In 2018, WordPress will be modernising and simplifying the content creation experience with Gutenberg.
I’ve been loosely following the noise surrounding the Gutenberg recently and have found a lot of resources on the update – instead of creating another article detailing the entire update I’ve decided to simply list the resources we have used to understand the upcoming update and things to look out for.

- Metabox (Metabox & ACF):
Gutenberg is written in JS, as are the metaboxes in the new Settings sidebar. There are many plugins that add metaboxes in PHP. Something to definitely keep an eye on.

The guys over at Yoast SEO are keeping up to date so I’m pretty relaxed about clients who use this plugin for now.
